Jagran Institute of Management and Mass Communication (JIMMC) is excited to announce a Photography Competition in celebration of World Tourism Day, inviting all photography enthusiasts to showcase their talents and capture the beauty of human emotions, nature, and heritage. This competition aims to highlight the power of photography in telling untold stories and capturing fleeting moments that define our shared experiences.

The best entries will be showcased in the JIMMC: Conference Hall, and winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on 27th September 2024. Join us as we celebrate creativity, storytelling, and the art of photography!

- Theme 2: Discover the Unique Charm of Kanpur
- Kanpur is a city rich in history and culture, from its ancient temples to its industrial heritage. For this theme, showcase how your images can encapsulate the untold stories of Kanpur – be it the bustling marketplaces, serene ghats, the hidden treasures of the city or the everyday charm that makes Kanpur not just a place to visit, but a place to experience.

- Only one entry per participant in each category is allowed.
- 22nd to 24th September 2024: Photographs must be submitted online via the following link: https://forms.gle/vkzAi9fzpyjxBeCy9. Late submissions will not be considered.
- 25th September, 2024: Shortlisted participates will be notified via WhatsApp. Keep an eye out!!

- Entries will be accepted only through online submissions via the above mentioned link.

- File Naming: Participants should name their image files for submission as “JIMMC_Photo_Name”
- Format :
- All entries submitted must be at least 300 DPI and must be uploaded in JPEG format with high – quality compression.
- Shortlisted candidates are required to submit a Hard copy, A3-sized (297mm x 420mm), printed on photo paper by 26th September.
- Basic adjustments colour correction can be done in Adobe Light room only.
- All submitted photos must contain the original metadata information. However, there must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible, references and/ or marks on the image.
- Originality: All submissions must be original works by the participants. Plagiarized or heavily edited photos will be disqualified.
- Image Rights:
- Participants should ensure they have all the necessary permissions to use any recognizable subjects and locations in their photos.
- The photographer must be the author of the pictures submitted in his/her Name.
- By submitting a photograph, participants grant the organizers non-exclusive rights to use
- Judging Criteria:
- Relevance to Theme: The extent to which the photograph relates to the competition’s theme.
- Composition and Framing: The photographer’s ability to arrange elements within the frame in a visually pleasing and effective manner.
- Creativity and Originality: The uniqueness and inventiveness of the photograph.
- Technical Skill: The level of technical proficiency in capturing and processing the image. Judges can evaluate factors like exposure, focus, sharpness, depth of field, and colour accuracy.
- Storytelling: The ability of the photograph to convey a narrative or tell a story.
- Copyright: Jagran Institute of Management and Mass Communication will own full rights of the submitted photographs and may use them as they deem fit.
- Code of Conduct: Participants should maintain ethical conduct throughout the competition.
- Prizes: Winners will be awarded certificates and prizes, with the announcement taking place during the exhibition on 27th September 2024.
Note: Participants are required to carry their school/college or government IDs to attend the exhibition and prize distribution ceremony on 27th September, 2024 @JIMMC.
