Prof Upendra is Alma mater of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi (India’s most reputed institution) and was gold medalist of his batch.
Furthermore, he has done Masters in Mass Communication in Sc &Tech and did his PhD from Lucknow University with fellowships of Rockefeller Foundation- USAID funded INCLEN program & Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Dr Upendra has more than 25 years of experience in Media Industry and almost a decade’s in Academics. He has worked with Top National Media houses such as Dainik Jagran, Hindustan Times, Amar Ujala and The Tribune as National Bureau Chief, Chief News Coordinator, Principal Correspondent and Editor. His fields of interest are Science Communication and Developmental Journalism (especially Agricultural Journalism & Science Communication). He represented Dainik Jagran in Indian Agri Journalists and Scientists team visiting technology tour & Farm Progress Show 2010 – Boone, Iowa, USA & Britain.
Prof Upendra represented The Tribune Chandigarh in Indian Journalists tour to Kuala Lumpur & Johor Bahru-Singapore border on invitation of Malaysia Government in 2016.
Dr Upendra holds an honour of being Editor-on-Panel in DKMA- Indian Coucil of Agricultural research (ICAR-PUSA) New Delhi and GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pant Nagar. Furthermore, he is the Chairman & Jury (Fusion) of International Science Film Festival of India (organised by VIGYAN PRASAR, Ministry of Science & Tech, Government of India).
