SPLASH- Cultural Club Activities

While the lectures and classes boost the academics, a fest showcases hidden talents and co-curricular skills. This year also, we celebrated "UDGHOSH", but with a little more collaboration. The "Udghosh 17" was full of fun with four more colleges; Jagran College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Jagran Institute of Digital Animation, Jagran Institute of Management and Jagran Institute of Management and Mass Communication, Noida. The fest begins with lighting of lamp by Mr Anand Sharma, Chief Guest for the day. This inter-collegiate started with the Nukkad Natak. This year the students of JCASC bagged the first prize. Students chose a very strong topic to talk about "Honour Killing". There were other out of the box themes a like demonetization, road safety and respect elders. The competition was judged by the city's prominent theatre artist Mr. Neeraj Hasting and Mr. Mahesh Dubey. 'Inquizitive', the quiz competition was full of jumbles and questions from all around the world. It covered history, geography, science, movies, festivals and so much more. Based on knowledge and all the sharp minds, JCASC stood first. Mime was a new add-on to the event list. The themes were sensitive and were presented beautifully. Life of a soldier by Prakhar Patel, Srishti Bhatia, Amit Chaurasia, Ayushi, Aryan Upadhyay, was one worth watching. The event went well and continued with the coming of Red FM Team. RJ Sugandha and her team were like a splash of energy and enthusiasm. The team made crowd cheerful with fun games like pushup challenge and never say Yes and No. she concluded with a pep talk and bid us bye with some goodie bags and an invitation to the studio to many students of the college. Fest means dance, music and lots of hurrays and whistles. The participants sang different genres not only current Bollywood, it was from Hollywood, folk, tuning to retros and some simple songs with a lot of meaning. This time, there were two firsts, two seconds and one third. Just going by the music, Amit Chaurasia sang Naina, Varsha Santra gave tribute to the brave mothers of the soldiers through the song Lukka Chuppi (both stood first of JIMMC Kanpur). The dance competition was equally energetic. Presenting bhangra by Richa Gupta and Nitanshu Tiwari of the JIMMC Kanpur, their first performance was a thrill. Lavani presented by the girls of JIMMC Noida, garba and semi-western, all were in the list to rock the fest. Dr. Nistha Sharma from Mahila Maha Vidalaya judged the competition. We organised other colourful events like rangoli making competition, poster making competition, tagline competition, story-writing competition and poem writing competition. The entries came were worth the competition and were being difficult to judge. Videography competition was ruled by the Pushkar and Purusharth of JIDA, photography competition was won by Prakhar Patel of JIMMC, Kanpur. The Hindi and English debate went well with superb social views of the budding future citizens. Valedictory function gave a feel of entire two days fest which showcased some more beautiful talents. It would not have been so special without our Chief Guests, the Vice Chancellor of Kanpur University Dr J.V. Vaishampayam, Chairman Jagran Publication Shri Y.M Gupta, CEO JEF Dr. J N Gupta, Director of all the institutes participated, faculties, staff and students. With lots of clapping, shouting and smiles, the event came to an end. The event was beautifully synchronized and brought by Ashrita Shukla (event cordinator). Also, irrespective of the competition among the colleges, the event seemed to be a cakewalk because of the teamwork .
